Greetings to all our club members. As I write this article, the remnants of the nor-eastern storm are mostly finished. The storm had done a lot of damage in the Tri-State Area with trees down, and major flooding, along with power outages. Now things are almost back to normal with some very warm weather and some more rain on and off.

I would like to say a special thank you to Mike Lisenco N2YBB the ARRL Section Manger for being our guest speaker at our March meeting.  I think most of us who were at the meeting are members of the ARRL. If you are one that is not I will ask you to think about becoming a member of the ARRL. The ARRL has a lot to offer you in many ways.
As president, I am responsible for the fiscal ‘health’ of this club. My personal opinions aside, I would like to know what you, the members want to see happen or do in this club, please feel free to send me any suggestions. At our April 20th meeting we will be kit building. These kits are available for members to put together. The cost of the kit is five dollars. You will learn good soldering practices and it is essential for the performance of your project.  Gary, KB2BSL and Phil, K2RUH will be leading the kit building event. If you have any questions contact Gary at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
At our March 16th meeting we had a great turnout to listen to Mike Lisenco N2YBB. At this meeting we started to give out some very nice door prizes and this will continue at all our club meeting for the rest of this year and I hope it continues for years to come.
To all full members of the KCRA if you have paid your dues by April 20, 2010 you are entitled to a chance on a new ht. The ht is a KG-UVD1P dual band radio that covers 136-174 mhz / 420-520 mhz (dtmf version) with a dual display. The drawing will take place at our next meeting April 20th, 2010, you need not be present to win.
Our next VE Examination is on April 6, 2010 at 6:45pm and then again on June 1, 2010 at 6:45pm. There will be a new Technician test pool effective June 30th, 2010. If you have been studying now is the time to take the test before all the questions change!
The next Event coming up will be the VHF-UHF Contest June 12, 13, and then Field Day the last weekend in June. In September we will be going to N.Y.C. to Battery Park for our 911 Special event station.
Therefore, I am asking the membership to attend our next meeting so that we can discuss what we are going to do in the future. To all members only you can make this a better club by getting involved in club activities.
