I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. The season is running out quickly and our children will be going back to school soon. It has been a good summer for our club.

We had a very nice day for our VHF-UHF contest, and when all was said and done we ran a score of 14,000 points. That wasn’t too bad for our first contest as the KC2RA. I would like to wish a job well done to all who took part in the contest, and hope that we can increase our score in the coming years.  Our annual field day was another great weekend of radio for the club. The weather was great, the bands were good. And most importantly, was the fact that people came to operate, help set up and break down, really made the weekend. It really showed how much you all support our club. I would like thank you all for our great summer.
On August 4, 2009 the club had its VE Examination, and we have four new Amateur's, and three upgrades. We upgraded one to general, and two to extra class licenses. Congratulations to all of you who passed their upgrade exam. We hope to see you at our next meeting of the KC2RA. I also would like to thank our VE’s who make it possible for us to conduct the examinations.  I want to say to all of you, that it certainly has been a TEAM effort.  If anyone would like to become a Volunteer Examiner with our group just drop us a line at This email address is being protected from spambots.             As your Club President I would like to take a minute and apologize for not getting a newsletter out for the past two months.  Due to circumstances beyond my control, the newsletter was not sent out. You will be consistently receiving a club newsletter here on out, I promise you that.
At our meeting on September 15, 2009 we will talk about our newsletter and our web page. We are also looking for members who would like to help out with our web page. You can get in touch with Gary, KB2BSL, if you are interested.  He has the web site under construction at this time, and it looks great. Thank you Gary!
The Club is only as good as its Executive Board officers and its members. We have a club net on Monday at 8:30 pm, and your participation is greatly needed. Check in, say hello and let the club members know you are alright. The net is intended to be a friendly network for members, and if you are looking to sell or swap or even need help this is the place to announce that. There are many people here in the club that will give their time to help you.
I hope to see everyone at the next meeting.
                                                                                                      Thank You,
                                                                                                   Harvey, KB2EA
