Greetings to all club members, Friends of the KCRA and fellow HAM’s!
The next meeting, April 17th, join us for a new Hands-On-Lab presented by our Technical Chairperson Gary, KB2BSL.  We will be learning about 1:1 ferrite current balun, and limited kits will be available for members.
Last month’s presentation was from our ARRL Hudson Division Director Joyce Birmingham, KA2ANF, and the Vice-Director William Hudzik, W2UDT. Our ARRL NLI Section Manager Mike Lisenco, N2YBB, also stopped by to keep us up to date on what is happening.
Repeater Status:   The first week in April, before the Tuesday VE exam, Gary installed part of the new repeater system.  It was ‘on-the-air’ for little over an hour.  When the Mores Code identifier sounded, Sid, KB2GEK shouted out to see who was on!  We spoke briefly with him. It was good to hear someone on the frequency using the repeater again!
We have a lot of work left to do on at the repeater site.  The next trips to the site, we will be: finishing the installation of the new repeater; removing the old equipment; taking down the antenna for a tune up; adding a ground wire to the equipment cabinet and testing the antenna cable; Please be patient, we will be back on the “Air” shortly.
In the interim, the KC2LEB UHF (440.5500 / 445.5500 PL-141.3, Staten Island North), and the clubs WG2MSK D-Star repeaters are available for use. Look for the KCRA Monday Night Club Net @8:30 following the Big Apple Traffic Net on Jim's repeater.
A special side note is in order for our long time club member Jack, KB2BCC, who passed the Extra Class Element 4!  Congratulations Jack!
73’de KB2PSI, Vinny
