Greetings to club members, Friends of the KCRA, and all fellow HAMs!
This month the KCRA Executive Board is open for nominations from the full members, and shall
close with the Tuesday, October 17, membership meeting.
At the time of this writing, there are openings on the board for:
Technical Chairperson and News-Letter Chairperson.

The meeting next month, Tuesday, November 21, members will cast a vote, and finalize the
nominations for next year’s KCRA Board of Directors.
September was a very full month for club events. This month members of the club participated in
the 911 event and a special Governors Island QRP. We held a club meeting at Spumoni Gardens, and
were surprised by several old members!! Thanks guys, for making it a great time!
This month, October, there are some events the Club members will be participating in.
October 21-22 Saturday-Sunday, New York QSO Party
October 20-22 Friday-Sunday, Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) provides the opportunity for
Scouts around the world to meet on the air via Amateur Radio.

ARES is looking for at least 20 operators
ARES will provide communication support, eyes and ears for the organizers and public safety.
We could use volunteers for these events and others, please contact us at info @ kc2ra org.
We are looking in to doing a free HAM Technician (2) day weekend class and test, probably in
November. We have always gotten a great response from the participants of the hands-on class,
and will be doing this class again this winter. The class will be open to ALL, and is free,
including the testing!!
The IRLP & D-Star server needs a new location, with free access to the internet.
Become Radioactive! Come to the KCRA meetings! Learn something participating in our Hands-On-
Labs! The Kings County Repeater Association needs your support at our monthly meetings! If you
have any ideas that pertain to amateur radio, we would like to hear from you.
I think most of us are members of the ARRL. If you are not, I would like you to consider
becoming a member of the ARRL. The ARRL has a lot to offer you in many ways, and they protect the
amateur radio bands from commercial use!
