2014 Events

We have some great events coming up in August and September! Time to get out of the house and join your fellow HAMS; get on the air, meet up with some old friends and make new ones!

You are invited to join us, the KCRA, NYCRA and the guys from the Big Apple Traffic Net for National Night Out Against Crime on the Staten Island boardwalk. Come over and join the fun; we will have several radios, portable antennas, a canopy, generator and lights set up on the boardwalk. We made some great overseas contacts last time we did this and it was a lot of fun!

Boy Scout STEM Day at Fort Hamilton

Saturday, September 27,  from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

The Boy Scouts of America have partnered with Fort Hamilton Army Base to present the first annual BOY SCOUT STEM DAY at Fort Hamilton. This event will feature hands-on learning, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math workshops led by scout volunteers, industry professionals, and  educators.

Join members of the KCRA to demonstrate how HF radios and antennas work.  We will be assisting the Scouts with completing their Merit Badges.

If you would like to attend,  we will need a list of names, license plate# (if you need vehicle access to site), and copies of picture I.D. for everyone who plans on attending. This is an active military base and any documents we provide ahead of time will speed up the check in process.

The September 16th meeting of the Kings County Repeater Association will be held starting at 7:00 PM (Coffee & Cake social time at 6:30), all meetings are held at: The Guild For Exceptional Children 260 68th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11220. Limited off street parking is available. The closest subway is the "R" line "Bay Ridge Ave" station, just a block and a half away! All are welcome, this meeting is open to both members and non-members.

Program for the evening: Discussion of upcoming events, the latest developments with Camp Pouch and we are also planning a hands on kit-build.

Hope to see everyone there!
