2010 Events

Please be aware that on March 30th, 2010, the KCRA board declared a state of emergency. The club has been notified that due to construction at our current repeater site, all equipment must be removed by this Saturday, April 3rd. The equipment will be removed starting at 9:00 AM.

The KC2RA repeater on 146.430 MHz, +1, PL 136.5 has been moved to its new home and is now fully operational with a great coverage area!

Our Echolink node 64300 is also back up and running!

The annual 9/11 memorial station on the air will take place this year on Friday September 10th 2010 from 13:00z to 23:00z (9am-7pm).

Member participation is encouraged, if you are interested in attending join the Monday night club net at 8:30 PM, contact any board member, or click This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.to send an email.

This year’s location is Battery Park, just a short walk from Ground Zero and the World Trade Center site.

During the weekend of June 4th - June 6th, the repeater was moved to its new home.

Despite encountering a few snags like the cabinet being too big, sweltering temperatures and humidity, as well as a failed power pole connector, Harvey (KB2EA), Vinny (KB2PSI), and Gary (KB2BSL) managed to get it all moved and set up. Everything seems to be working well and coverage is great!

Echolink is also back up and running, and repeater improvements are being planned.

This year’s location is at the South Beach Psychiatric Center, 777 Seaview Ave, in Staten Island, just minutes from the Verrazano bridge (open full article for a map).

Don’t worry, this is not a ploy to admit you! We will be utilizing the outdoor field adjacent to the center.
